About the Role and our Ideal Candidate
Building and maintaining relationships with landlords and letting agents
Negotiating rent levels, incentives and tenancy terms
Marketing the Council’s lettings service and attracting new properties
Matching households to suitable accommodation and arranging viewings
Progressing tenancy applications, references and sign-ups
Managing enquiries from tenants and landlords and resolving tenancy issues
Assisting with rent arrears arrangements and mediating disputes
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to performance target
About You
Has experience or a strong interest in the private rented/lettings sector
Has excellent communication and negotiation skills
Can work to targets and manage a busy caseload
Is customer-focused and able to work with vulnerable households
Has knowledge of welfare benefits and housing legislation (or willingness to learn)
Is organised, proactive and able to build positive working relationships
