Crynodeb

1. To carry a clinical caseload of people with complex occupational needs. To interpret referrals, conduct initial interviews; assess the strengths and limitations of the person. 2. To plan and implement appropriate treatment plans involving patients/clients/relatives/carers, multidisciplinary colleagues and external agencies, including social care as appropriate. Treatment may be delivered in a variety of community settings. 3. To plan and provide highly specialist occupational therapy based on best practice, current evidence, and national directives from National Institute for Clinical Excellence and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. 4. To clinically prioritise referrals requiring occupational therapy in line with team and pathway processes. To take a lead in case allocation and occupational therapy clinical pathways in collaboration with the team and service leads. 5. Be responsible for the organisation and implementation of clinical supervision for occupational therapy staff across the designated service. 6. Coordinate and lead the provision of highly skilled support and direction, including clinical supervision, appraisals (when delegated), training and competency sign off, to other occupational therapists within the designated service. 7. To be responsible for raising occupational therapy profession specific issues including training needs, and to work with the AHP professional leadership as directed in supporting occupational therapy professional issues. 8. To take a lead on occupational therapy areas of quality, service improvement, and innovation and research, in conjunction with Service Lead and AHP professional leadership 9. To work directly with patients, carers, clinicians, team leads, service leads and heads of service to advise on occupational therapy specific issues and needs. 10. To take a leadership role in contributing to, developing, implementing and reviewing integrated clinical pathways and from an occupational therapy perspective as directed by the service lead. 11. To ensure timely and accurate data entry to demonstrate improving data quality on the electronic system. 12. To professionally conduct yourself to ensure that you are an ambassador for your profession and the service that you work within and the Trust as a whole. 13. The post holder is required to remain eligible for State Registration through participation in appraisal, clinical supervision and Continuous Professional Development.
