Part-Time Vet Surgeon – Southwest London - Up to £85,000 (FTE)
Location: Southwest London – Riverside Village with Village Atmosphere
A well-established, first opinion vet clinic in a riverside London village is seeking a part-time vet surgeon to join their growing team. Nestled near the River Thames, the local High Street, and train station, the clinic offers a true London village atmosphere with excellent amenities.
About the Role
This part-time role is for Thursdays and Fridays, complementing the current associate vet who works Monday to Wednesday. The rota includes:
• 1:3 branch Saturday rotation
• 1:10 hospital Sunday rotation
• 1 bank holiday per year
• No on-call responsibilities
The successful candidate will work alongside a motivated associate vet and a skilled clinical support team, providing high-quality care to an established client base. The clinic is also recruiting for a senior RVN, offering an opportunity to build and shape the team from the ground up. Referral bonuses are available for candidates who bring a colleague or RVN friend.
Key Responsibilities
As a branch vet surgeon, the role includes:
• Conducting thorough consultations, examinations, and treatment plans aligned with evidence-based veterinary medicine and clinic protocols
• Performing surgeries appropriate to personal competence, without overnight care requirements
• Prescribing and dispensing medications in line with current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance
• Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical notes
• Referring cases to the GVG hospital when necessary
• Supporting a collaborative team environment
• Overseeing clinic diaries, SOP compliance, and coordinating branch meetings with the RVN
The clinic recently added ultrasound facilities, offering opportunities for vets with a keen interest in diagnostic imaging. Support is provided by a dedicated regional manager, a 24-hour sister hospital 15 minutes away, and the regional head vet for clinical and management guidance.
Salary & Benefits
• Salary: £24,975 – £47,175 per year (pro-rata; equivalent to £45,000 – £85,000 FTE based on 40 hours) depending on experience and development within the role
