We are looking for a motivated, proactive and enthusiastic Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy team in the development of a high quality and specialised pharmacy service to the Medicine services.

The post holder will ensure that the quality of pharmacy services in Medicine is recognised as a lead nationally in line with the Trust objectives.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent leadership and management skills, be flexible and work well leading a team with excellent problem-solving & time management skills. Applicants must be currently registered with the GPhC as a pharmacist and completed the clinical pharmacist diploma. An independent prescribing qualification is essential. Successful candidates will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the development of the operational elements of the Emergency Department and the acute pharmacy service across the 3 sites at the Trust and will work with the team to ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of drugs. The focus of this role will be to work with the senior pharmacy and multidisciplinary team to develop pharmacy services to provide optimal patient-centred care but will also include the implementation and monitoring of performance indicators to evaluate the contributions of the pharmacy team to the department in line with staffing, patient turnover and Trust priorities to ensure that departmental standards are met. It will also include the development of medicine-related policies and guidelines for the Trust relevant to medicine.
