Job Title:Volunteer Senior Mobile Game Programmer

Organisation:- Nurture The Children international –A UK Registered Charity dedicated to supporting children and vulnerable young people and mental health services and empowering disadvantage communities across the UK.

Location:- Fully Remote (uk based preferred for time zone and legal alignment;occasional virtual meeting.

Type: Volunteer

Commitment: Fexible –ideally 6-10 hours per week(adjustable around your schedule,studied or paid work.)

Duration:-minimum 6-12 months (longer term involvement encouraged and appreciated)

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Senior Mobile Game Programmer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-quality mobile games. You will work closely with designers, artists, and other developers to create engaging gameplay experiences while ensuring high performance across mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain mobile games for iOS and Android platforms.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with game designers, artists, and producers to implement gameplay mechanics.
• Optimize game performance for mobile devices.
• Debug and resolve technical issues.
• Integrate third-party SDKs, analytics, and monetization systems.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
• Work with QA teams to ensure high-quality releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mobile game development.
• Strong experience with Unity (C#) or other game engines.
• Experience developing games for Android and iOS.
• Strong understanding of game architecture and performance optimization.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience shipping at least one successful mobile game.
• Knowledge of multiplayer systems, AR/VR, or advanced graphics optimization.

Volunteer Experience (Optional)
• Participation in game development communities, game jams, or open-source game projects.
• Volunteering in coding mentorship programs, tech workshops, or student game development initiatives.
• Contributing to non-profit or educational game development projects
