Job details
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to deliver marketing, communications, and promotional activity across One Leisure and Burgess Hall Conference and Events Centre. This role will develop and implement strategies that increase engagement, participation, and income while promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire.

You will oversee digital and print communications, including websites, social media, and the One Leisure App, and ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels. Working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders - including members, partners, schools, contractors, and local community groups – you will deliver targeted campaigns and promotional initiatives that meet the needs of diverse audiences.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in marketing within the leisure, events, or hospitality sectors, with proven skills in campaign delivery and project coordination. You will be highly organised, digitally literate, and confident in influencing colleagues and senior management to adopt innovative marketing approaches.

About the role
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality, engaging experience for the community across One Leisure and Burgess Hall Conference and Events Centre. The purpose of the role is to develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that increase participation, maximise attendance, and drive income, while promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire District Council services.

Working closely with colleagues across Leisure, Events, and Council teams, you will translate HDC’s vision into effective campaigns, ensuring communications are clear, consistent, and impactful. You will also engage with external stakeholders, including members, partners, schools, and community groups, ensuring our services remain responsive to local needs and opportunities.

About you
You are an enthusiastic and proactive marketing and communications professional with a passion for the leisure, events or hospitality sector. You have proven experience in developing and delivering effect campaigns and coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders. You have strong digital skills, with the ability to use social media, websites, and other communication tools to engage and inform diverse audiences.

You are highly organised, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and can adapt to changing priorities with confidence. Your excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills enable you to build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and the wider community. You are motivated by making a tangible impact, inspiring participation, and promoting the positive image of services and facilities in line with Huntingdonshire District Council’s values.

An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. HDC does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.

For many of our roles, our hybrid work model enables employees to work remotely while allowing for in-office collaboration opportunities across the district, with an expectation of being in the office at least two days a week. However, please note that some positions may require a more consistent presence in the office due to the nature of the work.
