Paragon Education is currently recruiting experienced SEMH Teachers and Support Staff to work across Greater Manchester, supporting schools partnered with Multi-Service Providers (MSPs). If you are passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, we would love to hear from you.

Behaviour Mentors

Teaching Assistants (TA)

Learning Support Assistants (LSA)

1:1 Behaviour Support Staff

These roles involve supporting pupils who require additional support with social, emotional, and behavioural development, often within alternative provisions, specialist schools, PRUs, and mainstream schools with SEMH support units.

Key Responsibilities

Provide structured support for pupils with SEMH needs in classroom and small-group settings

Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support emotional regulation and engagement

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and MSP staff

Support behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques

Help implement personalised support plans and behaviour strategies

Experience & Qualifications Required

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs

Relevant qualification such as QTS (for teachers), Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience in education or youth support roles

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches

A patient, resilient, and proactive approach

Experience supporting pupils with ADHD, trauma backgrounds, or challenging behaviours
