Summary
Mechanical Lead Engineer – FM Service Provider – Bank, London – Up to £55,000 per annum
CBW are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Lead Engineer to join a prestigious corporate building located in Bank, City of London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-specification commercial environment for a leading Facilities Maintenance provider, supporting a well-established on-site team.
This role requires you to take full responsibility for the mechanical services across the building, overseeing daily maintenance operations and delivering a high-quality Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme. You will lead a team of three engineers, ensuring smooth coordination of all mechanical systems while maintaining high service standards for a corporate client.
With significant overtime available and a 1-in-4 call-out rota, this position offers strong earning potential within a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all mechanical maintenance activities on site
- Manage agreed KPIs and SLAs alongside the Supervisor
- Arrange and oversee specialist mechanical subcontractors
- Manage reports and site logbooks in partnership with the Contract Manager and Supervisor
- Ensure all documentation is current, compliant and audit-ready
- Attend client meetings as required
- Air conditioning maintenance: AHUs / FCUs (filter changes, cleaning, basic checks)
- Oversee heating and cooling systems, pumps, motors and associated plant
- Monitor and adjust BMS as required (e.g. hot/cold calls)
- Carry out statutory compliance checks relating to mechanical services
- Support minor mechanical installations and reactive repairs
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday (40-hour week)
- Week 1: 07:00 – 16:00
- Week 2: 08:00 – 17:00
- Week 3: 11:00 – 20:00
Requirements
- Mechanical qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical bias with experience in commercial building maintenance
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Client-facing, professional and presentable
- Hard-working, reliable and proactive approach
