Apthorp Care Centre is a specialist care home in Barnet, North London supporting adults with complex nursing needs, dementia and mental health conditions. The home offers 119 purpose designed bedrooms across three floors and provides complex nursing care, specialist dementia support and residential mental health care within a safe, structured and supportive environment focused on dignity, stability and wellbeing.

  • £55,000 per year
  • Full time contract
  • Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

The Role
As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will support the Home Manager in leading the clinical team and ensuring the delivery of high quality care for residents with complex nursing needs, dementia and mental health conditions.

You will oversee clinical care delivery across the service, supporting nurses and care staff to ensure safe medication management, accurate care planning and effective monitoring of residents’ health and wellbeing.

Your role will involve supporting clinical governance, supervising the nursing team, responding to changes in residents’ health and working closely with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.

As part of a specialist complex care service, you will help establish strong clinical systems and ensure care is delivered in a safe, structured and therapeutic environment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC PIN
  • Experience working in complex nursing, dementia or mental health care settings
  • Previous leadership or senior nursing experience
  • Strong clinical knowledge and decision making skills
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
