Crynodeb
Main duties of the job The Nursing Associate will: Undertake and record clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight, BMI and urinalysis. Perform venepuncture, capillary blood sampling and other diagnostic procedures. Carry out ECGs. Deliver wound care including dressings, suture removal and basic wound assessment. Administer injections as delegated and within scope of practice. Support chronic disease monitoring (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension) under supervision. Support patients with long-term conditions, including those with complex needs such as dementia and mental health conditions. Carry out cervical cytology (if trained and competent). Administer vaccinations and immunisations under Patient Group Directions (PGDs) or Patient Specific Directions (PSDs), including childhood immunisations (if appropriately trained and assessed as competent). Undertake home visits for housebound patients for annual reviews, vaccinations and monitoring as delegated. Recognise and respond appropriately to deteriorating patients or safeguarding concerns.
