Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work for a leading Facilities Management company based in Southmeads.
ROLE: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
PAY RATE: £ 17.31 p/h PAYE
JOB TYPE: 3-4 Months Contracts
LOCATION: Southmeads
HOURS PER WEEK: 40 hours per week
HOURS: Monday to Friday Hours: 7:00-15:30, 10:00-18:30
Note: Alternates late and early shifts each week. (Includes participation in on-call rota and occasional overtime as required)
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support facilities management services on a large site. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fault-finding and repair skills. The successful candidate must be confident working independently and responding to reactive maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults independently.
- Maintain and repair HVAC systems, AHUs, pumps, valves, TMVs, steam systems and medical gas systems.
- Complete basic plumbing repairs and basic electrical tasks (e.g. lamp changes).
- Respond to breakdowns such as leaks, temperature issues, and water system faults.
- Support plant inspections and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
- Follow Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards.
- Participate in on-call rota and overtime where required.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, HVAC or related discipline.
- Proven hands-on maintenance experience (no design-only backgrounds).
- Strong fault-finding ability.
- Able to work independently and on alternating shifts.
