As the first point of contact for all medical and first aid needs, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our students (ages 11–19), many of whom have complex needs including autism spectrum condition, communication and interaction, and cognition and learning difficulties.What we offer:

• Has relevant experience in a healthcare or medical support role, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
• Possesses strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Has knowledge of health and safety requirements, including medication administration and risk assessment.
• Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
• Holds a first aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and review healthcare and individual care plans in partnership with parents, carers, and relevant professionals.
• Administer prescribed medication and provide day-to-day support for students’ medical needs across both school sites.
• Lead on first aid provision, ensuring staff are trained, confident, and supported in delivering effective first aid.
• Manage staff risk assessments to promote safe practice in relation to students’ healthcare needs.
• Liaise with parents and carers regarding medical requirements, updates to healthcare plans, and attendance at medicals or reviews.
• Ensure compliance with statutory health, safety, and safeguarding regulations at all times.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and oversee the safe storage of medication and medical equipment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to promote inclusion and ensure that medical needs are met within the learning environment.Qualifications & Training• Relevant first aid and medical qualifications (e.g., Paediatric First Aid, First Aid at Work, or equivalent).
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in healthcare, first aid, or SEN support.Skills and Knowledge • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities.
• Good knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements relating to schools and pupils.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain medical procedures and guidance to staff, students, and parents/carers.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
• Understanding of the needs of pupils with SEN, including those with autism spectrum condition, communication and interaction, and cognition and learning needs.Personal Qualities • Highly organised, reliable, and proactive.
