UK Power Networks is looking for a Tactical Procurement Specialist to support smart, efficient sourcing across a diverse range of indirect categories. If you enjoy problem‑solving, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving value through clever procurement, this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Manage small tenders, direct awards and single‑source requests
- Analyse contracts, identify renewal and savings opportunities
- Support category management and supplier onboarding
- Execute compliant sourcing routes, including three‑bid tenders
- Act as a key partner interface, guiding stakeholders through procurement
- Drive efficiency, challenge assumptions and support continuous improvement
What you'll bring
- Strong organisational, analytical and influencing skills
- Ability to manage multiple procurement activities with accuracy and pace
- Understanding of supplier management, sourcing processes and commercial principles
- Confident working independently within a busy team environment
⭐ Bonus points for
- Degree-level study (procurement, business, engineering)
- NEC3 experience
- Prior purchasing/procurement experience
- Experience in regulated environments
- CIPS/MCIPS (or working toward it)
- Familiarity with SAP Ariba / Achilles
