About Us
The Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team is responsible for the safe and efficient use of over 120 vehicles, primarily minibuses, across North Yorkshire. Our dedicated team of approximately 350 drivers and passenger assistants delivers around 800,000 passenger journeys annually, including 20,000 wheelchair user journeys. We provide essential transport services that enable people to access day centres, learning opportunities, supported employment, and other meaningful activities. We also operate registered local bus services and community transport journeys.
About the Role
We are seeking caring, flexible, and committed individual to join our team as a Medical Passenger Assistant. In this role, you will support a client on journeys from home to school for 10/15 hours per week during term time.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the safety and well-being of the passenger during journeys.
Assist with boarding and alighting, ensuring all safety equipment is used correctly (full training provided).
Administer emergency medication to a child in accordance with their care plan.
Communicate effectively with carers and colleagues on a daily basis.
What We’re Looking For:
Compassionate and reliable individuals with good communication skills.
Flexibility to work split shifts Monday to Friday (typically 8:00–9:00 and 15:00–16:00, subject to change based on passenger needs).
Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential—full training will be provided.
