Crynodeb
This post only has daytime responsibilities and primarily involves the medical management of children and adolescents undergoing orthopaedic and scoliosis surgery, some of them with underlying neurological diagnoses such as: cerebral palsy, or genetic syndromes such as Rett syndrome. There are three beds allocated for patients with spinal cord injury coming at RNOH for our bespoke rehabilitation program. Also, there is a sarcoma service based at RNOH with a rapid diagnostic pathway involving all paediatricians, with a weekly MDT, an acute referral service and many patients undergoing surgery. Other important duties include audit, teaching and there are opportunities for clinical research too. The clinical work is inpatient basedand directed by daily consultant-led ward rounds.
