We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our Radiology administration team.
The successful candidate will need to have previous experience of telephony and reception work, preferably in a healthcare setting, in addition to being well organised, motivated and be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
The Radiology reception service operates between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00pm. seven days per week. The post holder will be based at Leighton, but occasionally be required to cover the Victoria Infirmary Northwich site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high quality clerical service to facilitate the effective organisation of the departments clerical structure. They will be required to work across the department offering support to both clinical and non clinical staff members.
To provide a comprehensive administrative, reception, and telephony service within the Radiology Department. The postholder will support the smooth operation of radiological services by managing patient interactions, appointment scheduling, image transfers, and departmental communications, while ensuring compliance with Trust policies and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Reception & Clerical Support
· Provide a comprehensive reception, telephonist, and clerical service to the Radiology Department.
· Welcome and receive patients, relatives, carers, and visitors, ensuring a professional and supportive environment.
· Maintain the preparation and flow of patient data/information, ensuring accuracy and availability at the right time and place.
Call Centre & Appointment Coordination
· Answer incoming calls via the Radiology Call Centre and make outbound calls as required.
· Assist with scheduling X-ray appointments and other administrative tasks to support the efficient running of the X-ray service.
· Contact patients with appointment details, reminders, pre-scan instructions, and short-notice cancellations.
Image Transfer & Data Management
· On a rotational basis, manage the electronic transfer of images to other NHS hospitals.
· Burn imaging CDs and ensure secure handling of patient imaging data.
· Retrieve referrals via the Meditech “order-comms” system and maintain accurate patient records using IT systems.
Communication & Liaison
· Handle enquiries from wards, departments, GPs, other hospitals, and the public.
· Ensure effective communication across all staff grades and departments.
· Maintain confidentiality of patient and departmental information at all times.
Governance & Quality
· Support service quality monitoring through benchmarking and audits.
· Assist in implementing action plans arising from risk reports and complaints.
· Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and guidelines, escalating concerns where necessary.
Leadership & Professionalism
· Act as a role model by demonstrating leadership, expertise, and professionalism.
· Maintain credibility within the department, wider healthcare community, and external agencies to promote a positive image of the Trust.
Operational Support
· Assist in the effective use of departmental resources including staff, budget, premises, equipment, and supplies.
· Organise own workload to maintain an efficient and professional service.
· Support the induction and training of new staff members.
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure working environment.
· Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
· Keep accurate documentation and report any concerns or hazards promptly.
