About us:

We are a family run independent Timber Yard/DIY store with over 40 years experience in the supply of timber products and building materials to local tradespeople, businesses and DIY customers across the North East of England.

We pride ourselves on providing customers with a 5 star service and expert advice.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, driven and dynamic manager to take over the responsibility for the day to day management and profitable growth of our established Middlesbrough store. You will have the autonomy and opportunity to develop the business to suit the local market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, support and develop a motivated team.
• Oversee daily store operations, including stock management, merchandising and visual presentation.
• Drive and grow profitability through effective sales, stock and resource management.
• Build and develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Develop product lines.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the store environment.
• Supervise staff scheduling, training and performance appraisals to foster a productive work environment.
• Administrative tasks such as stock control, reporting and inventory.
• Utilize organisational skills to coordinate promotional activities, seasonal displays and store layout updates.
• Foster a positive team atmosphere through leadership and clear communication.

Qualities:
• The ideal candidate must have a can do attitude with a hands on approach.
• Demonstrate previous experience working within a Management or Supervisory position within a Builders Merchant/Timber Yard/DIY store.
• Have strong leadership and people management skills.
• Have organisational skills with experience in time management and administrative tasks related to retail operations.
• Have the ability to coach and develop teams.
• Have a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Can demonstrate commercial awareness.
