About the Role

If you are passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential in a caring, inclusive setting, we would love to hear from you.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting pupils’ academic learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development, often helping them achieve things they once thought were beyond reach.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values inclusive education, and is committed to helping young people build confidence, independence, and resilience.

Your role will include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional and complex needs, helping them remain engaged, safe, and valued.
Supporting the planning and delivery of creative, engaging learning activities alongside teaching staff to promote progress and curiosity.
Encouraging pupils’ emotional, social, and physical development through patience, understanding, and positive behaviour support.
Taking part in a range of classroom-based and outdoor learning activities, from structured lessons to practical and creative experiences.
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a consistent, nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive.

No two days are ever the same. With the support of our experienced and compassionate team, you will always feel encouraged, guided, and valued in your role.

We are looking for someone who is:
Caring, flexible, and enthusiastic
A supportive team player
Confident working both indoors and outdoors
Passionate about helping children learn, grow, and succeed
Essential Qualifications

GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades A–C or 4 and above)
About Us

At Mountfield Heath School, every day brings new challenges, opportunities, and rewards. Every member of our team plays a crucial role in shaping brighter futures for our pupils.

We support autistic boys and girls aged 5–11, many of whom have additional needs. Our independent special educational needs provision currently educates 45 pupils, across a spacious site with large classrooms and dedicated outdoor learning areas.

Our mission is simple: to equip every child with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. We aim to prepare pupils not only for school but for life beyond, encouraging them to achieve high standards in all areas of development.

Located in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, the school is easily accessible from Hastings, Royal Tunbridge Wells, and surrounding areas, making this an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are pioneering innovative, evidence-based approaches that deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes for everyone in our care.
