​Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team based at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. What will you deliver?Assist the Assistant Technical Services Manager in the provision and deliver of a high-quality maintenance serviceAssisting in the operation, repair and maintenance of building fabric and engineering services while working within a multi-disciplinary hard service team environmentTo undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to complete diagnostic, fault finding and repair to complex mechanical systems in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidanceObtain Competent Person status following training and instruction for systems such as specialist ventilation system, complex water systems and medical gas installationsCarry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to services across site on various aspects of the building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and trainingMinimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance issues in accordance with the requirements of the ContractAssist in carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation worksWhat can we offer you?On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes; 24 days annual leave (+ public holidays)Life Cover equivalent to 1.5 times annual salaryEmployee discount shopping schemes on major brands and retailersGym membership discounts Cycle to work scheme Holiday purchase scheme2 corporate social responsibility days per yearBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualifications, collective/individual training, and personalized support programmesAttractive Employee Referral Rewards SchemeAccess to our growing employee networks24/7 Employee Assistance Program and access to mental wellbeing appWho are you?Previously worked within a maintenance environmentGood knowledge and understand of a range of complex mechanical systems including but not limited to ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systemsPost apprenticeship experience within a maintenance environment Recognised apprenticeship in relevant engineering discipline to City & Guilds levelPreviously worked within a healthcare maintenance environment (Desirable)Previous Competent Person/Authorised Person experience including ventilation and/or pressure systems. (Desirable)This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
