We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Personal Assistant / Carer (female only role) to support a severely disabled adult with complex needs in their own home.
About the Role
The role involves providing high-quality, person-centred care and support to enable independence, dignity and quality of life.
We need someone who also understands the professional boundaries within a family home setting.
Duties include:
- Full personal care (washing, dressing, toileting as doubly incontinent)
- Moving and handling (hoisting required)
- Support with feeding and medication administration
- Assistance with communication needs
- Supporting social activities and being out in the community.
- Light household tasks related to client.
About the Individual
You will be supporting a friendly adult with severe complex physical disabilities and additional care needs.
Full training will be provided for the right candidate and annual mandatory training will be arranged between employer and manager before booking online.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in complex care (e.g. neurological conditions, feeding, epilepsy management, etc.)
- Confident with moving and handling equipment
- Reliable, punctual and patient
- Able to work independently
- Enhanced DBS
- [Driving licence – 21 years or older due to vehicle insurance]
Desirable
- Experience with non-verbal communication methods
- Experience working in home care settings
