All about the Role
The Principal Occupational Therapist/Therapy Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of a wide range of occupational therapy and related services, including Adults OT, OT Duty, Children's OT, Learning Disability, Housing OT, Technology Enabled Care (TEC), and Sensory Services. The focus will be on ensuring high quality, safe and effective practice across these areas, working in line with professional standards, statutory requirements and local procedures.
The post holder will coordinate and manage day today service activity, including monitoring performance and reviewing service delivery. The role also includes responsibility for a significant service budget and the requirement to collect, analyse, and use performance data to support continuous improvement and responsive service delivery.
The post involves managing and developing a mixed workforce of occupational therapists and nonregistered staff through supervision and involvement in service development. You will support colleagues through change, contribute expert clinical advice, and ensure that safe, effective and evidence informed practice remains at the centre of the service.
You will act as a specialist resource within occupational therapy, offering advanced knowledge of legislation, assessment requirements, therapeutic interventions, specialist equipment, and minor and major adaptations. The role also includes responsibility for supporting the development of apprenticeship and student pathways.
