A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen, for a keen and motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist, to join our friendly, well-established multi professional team, here at the Community Mental Health Team in Trafford. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Occupational Therapist, who is keen to deliver high quality, safe services and best practice in Community Mental Health.
We would welcome applicants with leadership aptitude, innovative and creative ideas, which would support the ongoing development of the service. A specialist interest and experience in mental health is sought.
The post-holder will have access to a breadth of continued professional development through, annual appraisal, ongoing professional support, professional meetings, regular training and routine clinical and professional supervision. Professional supervision is provided by the AHP Professional Lead for the Community Care Group; whilst local support and supervision are provided within the team.
We have a strong OT structure across the Community Care Group, and across GMMH. This is further enhanced by Occupational Therapy clinical networks, which you can attend and network with your peers in other localities. This truly is a rare and attractive opportunity. 1. Provide clinical and professional leadership, supervision, support and consultation to occupational therapy staff and MDT colleagues in line with community mental health pathways and operational procedures. Lead an identified cluster with a focus on OT and recovery‑based interventions, holding a small caseload of OT‑specific and generic work. Support the care group AHP lead in the operational and strategic development of the OT service.
Maintain effective liaison with primary care, GP practices, and local statutory and non‑statutory agencies. Adhere to RCOT Codes of Ethics and Professional Standards and HCPC registration requirements, ensuring compliance of others. Maintain clinical competence, using evidence‑based, client‑centred practice to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate interventions, and record all work in line with CMHT procedures.
Participate in the Operational on‑call rota and deputise for the CMHT Team Manager, undertaking delegated duties as required.
