I’m looking for a reliable, organised, and professional Personal Assistant to support me in daily life as I adjust to using a wheelchair. This role can be offered as one position or a job share, depending on availability and suitability.This is a support role and would suit someone who is confident working within clear professional boundaries.I’m passionate about nature, wildlife, and the environment, and enjoy spending time in Bristol’s parks, woodlands, and estuaries. I also have creative interests including painting, drawing, willow weaving, music, reading, and writing.
I am currently transitioning to using a wheelchair and am committed to staying active, connected, and engaged with my community. I value practical, calm, and consistent support that enables me to do this.I also have a Hahn’s Macaw, who is a big part of my daily routine. Being comfortable around birds is essential.What This Role InvolvesThis role is about practical, task-focused support, including:Support with planning, organisation, and attending appointments or activitiesAssistance with food preparation (strictly gluten-free due to coeliac disease — awareness of cross-contamination is essential)Housework, laundry, and light gardeningSupport with accessibility and mobility as I adjust to wheelchair useTransport support (a driver with access to a car is highly beneficial, as I cannot use public transport)What I’m Looking For in a PAProfessional and reliable — able to maintain clear boundaries and follow agreed routinesClear communicator — able to listen, ask clarify and follow instructions without assumptions.
Able to emotionally self-regulate. Flexible and adaptable — my health fluctuates, so support needs may vary.
Knowledge and understanding of Celiac Disease is essential:
Including foods to avoid and cross contact. The hours have some flexibility and should be discussed during interview. 8:30-12:30 am Monday to Wednesday 8:30-1:30 am Thursday Friday 5:30-7:30 pm Monday Wednesday 5:30-6:30 Thursday Friday 4 hours on the weekend Saturday morningIf you are practical, respectful, and confident working in a clear, professional support role, I would welcome your application.
