What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Board of Pikes Lane Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed, principled and strategic Headteacher to lead our school into its next phase of development.
Pikes Lane is a diverse and inclusive school at the heart of our community. Our children are enthusiastic, resilient and proud of their school. Our staff are dedicated and hardworking. Our Governors are ambitious for the future and clear about the importance of strong leadership, high standards and accountability.
This appointment marks an important moment for the school. We are looking for a leader who will build on existing strengths, provide clarity and stability, and work in partnership with staff and governors to ensure every child thrives.
The Governing Board are looking for a Headteacher who will:
• Place the quality of education at the centre of all decision-making
• Lead with integrity, visibility and high expectations
• Provide stability, clear direction and strong professional standards
• Champion inclusion and ensure disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils achieve well
• Develop and support staff, promoting wellbeing alongside accountability
• Work transparently and constructively with Governors and the Local Authority
• Demonstrate sound financial oversight and effective organisational leadership

• Keeps us safe
• Comes into our classrooms to see our learning
• Helps us believe we can do well in life
