What skills and experience we're looking for

St Paul’s Nursery is seeking an experienced level 3 or above Nursery Nurse, to join our highly skilled team. Our recent OFSTED graded GOOD (January 2024) states, “In early years, shared understanding of key learning points is secure across the staff, which means children learn well.” We have strong links with St Paul’s Catholic Primary School and support the Catholic Ethos within our Nursery.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• To be responsible for all round care of children 2-4 yrs. and plan and implement activities to support children’s development to cover the EYFS development matter, seven areas of learning.
• To support children with SEND on a 1:1 basis, when needed
• To communicate effectively and work in partnership with parents and other professionals and to respect confidentiality when appropriate. Carry out regular parent meetings with parents to discuss their child’s development.
• To take on the role of key worker to a group of children and to maintain accurate developmental records. Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities, ensuring children are on track. Complete reports on the child’s development and next steps to share with Parents.
• To attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required.
• To work within all nursery policies and procedures including administration and recording of first aid.
• To ensure nursery environment and resources are safe and clean in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Key worker with responsibility for a toddler or pre-school group
