What skills and experience we're looking for
Required for September 2026, Governors are seeking to appoint an aspirational Joint Curriculum Lead for Mathematics with strategic vision and enthusiasm to assist in the driving forward of an already successful Mathematics department.
The Mathematics Department continues to go from strength to strength. Our dedicated team is united by a shared determination and passion to deliver an outstanding mathematics curriculum to every student. Last year, we redesigned our curriculum, ensuring a far more cohesive and carefully sequenced approach to teaching and learning. Lessons are now implemented with greater clarity, consistency, and purpose, enabling students to build their knowledge and confidence progressively across all key stages. We are delighted with the early impact of these developments. Students are engaging more deeply with their learning, demonstrating improved understanding and resilience in problem-solving. As a team, we are excited about the sustained difference this refined curriculum will make to the future attainment and aspirations of Mount St Mary’s students.
The successful candidate will be an effective classroom practitioner, with excellent interpersonal skills, who will support and contribute to a team ethos capable of driving improvements. They will be able to teach across the age and ability range up to GCSE at higher level. In return they will have the opportunity to be part of a dedicated and committed team teaching in a purpose built vibrant and stimulating learning environment.
They will play a full part in the life of the school community, be a form tutor and will contribute to maintaining the strong Catholic character of the school and in fostering the development of students and staff.
School application forms and further details are available from our website – www.mountstmarys.org. Completed application forms should be returned to Mrs Stubbs, Headteacher’s PA, by email – a.stubbs@mountstmarys.org.
