Shift Engineer

Location: Gloucester, GL4 3RU

Hours of work: 43

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to support the delivery of a well-maintained workplace environment.​

In this role, you will complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and ensure engineering standards are upheld to maximise the reliability and operational effectiveness of plant, equipment and associated systems.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who can respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks, support on-site quality assurance processes, and maintain accurate documentation.​

The successful candidate will have experience in corporate environments and be confident working independently as well as within a wider engineering team.

Working Pattern:

4 day shifts (12 hours 15 minutes)
6 days off
4 night shifts (12 hours 15 minutes)
4 days off
3 day shifts followed by 3 night shifts (12 hours 15 minutes each)
4 days off

Key Responsibilities

Carry out PPM tasks in line with scheduled programmes and engineering standards.
Ensure all works comply with HASAWA requirements and ISS Safe Systems of Work.

Maintain accurate records, logs and documentation as directed.

Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and helpdesk requests.

Co-ordinate initial actions for client requests and manage visiting specialist subcontractors.

Undertake fault finding and diagnosis for PPM and reactive tasks.

Deputise for the Shift Leader when required and attend site meetings as needed.

Provide reports on works and equipment and complete required training to maintain standards.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experience completing PPM and reactive maintenance in corporate environments.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Fully electrically qualified or mechanically qualified with a recognised apprenticeship.

18th Edition qualified.

Preferred: LV switching experience and a current LV training certificate (training can be provided).

Willingness to complete HV training (if electrically qualified).
