Join the Front Line of Community Safety

Are you proactive, confident, and ready for a role where no two days are the same?

We are looking for a motivated Civil Enforcement Officer to join the local Council's Civil Enforcement team. You'll play a key role in helping the Council meet its responsibilities under the Traffic Management Act 2004 - keeping traffic flowing, ensuring fair parking, and supporting the local community.

This is an active, outdoor role where you'll patrol designated areas across Thanet, represent the Council professionally, and make a real difference every day.

Enforcing parking restrictions in line with legislation and local Traffic Regulation Orders

✉️ Issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) where vehicles are parked in contravention

Collecting and recording clear evidence to support enforcement action

Carrying out daily checks of pay and display machines and reporting faults

️ Conducting weekly car park inspections

Reporting damaged signs, faded lines, or missing road markings

Providing helpful, professional support to members of the public

Working alongside CCTV, Streetscene Enforcement and local police to share intelligence

Managing abandoned vehicle reports from investigation through to removal

Supporting joint enforcement operations when required

✅ What We're Looking For

Basic knowledge of the Highway Code and relevant traffic legislation

Good understanding of the Thanet area

Basic IT skills

Full, clean UK driving licence

Strong communication and conflict management skills

⚡ Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

☀️ Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Physically fit and able to carry out patrol duties

Strong attention to detail

Previous experience in enforcement or a similar role is desirable but not essential

Why Apply?

✔️ Stable Temp-to-Perm opportunity
✔️ Varied and active working environment
✔️ Opportunity to represent and support your local community
✔️ Immediate start available

If you are passionate about community safety and ready for a role where you can make a visible impact, we would love to hear from you.
