P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Production Technician to join their team based in Bury St Edmunds on a full-time, permanent basis.
Role Summary:
The role is part of the Operations team, reporting to the Operations manager, and involves the in-process inspection and assembly operations for the in-house manufactured laboratory equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
• Connecting wiring harness.
• Small connector crimping and soldering.
• Mechanical assembly.
• Assembly of small tubing and fittings.
• Reviewing manufacturing cell stock levels and quality.
• Improvement of product assembly through exploring new methods.
• Supporting production technicians with fault finding.
• Reporting of slow processes and quality concerns to line managers.
• Manage workload to achieve targets.
Experience & Qualifications (minimum):
• Minimum 2 years experience in a production biased role
• 2 A levels or National diploma / GNVQ level 3
• Experience with mechanical assemblies
• Able and willing to learn
• Able to work in a busy deadline driven environment.
• Able to multi task with an organised approach.
• Confident with Windows, Excel, Word.
• Ability to read engineering drawings
Desirable:
• Good technical understanding of materials
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience in fault-finding electro-mechanical assemblies
Working Hours:
• Monday – Friday 40 hours per week
