Wadhurst, East Sussex

Our client is a specialist wholesale distributor of lighting components and bespoke lighting solutions for the sign and lighting industries. Working closely with manufacturers, suppliers and trade customers, they provide high-quality LED lighting products, electrical components and tailored design solutions to a loyal B2B client base.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on Technical Customer Support role combining customer service, technical account management and order coordination. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries and technical queries, ensuring a professional, responsive and solutions-focused service at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of our specialist lighting products and industry-specific solutions
- Provide technical customer support via phone, email and website enquiries
- Manage customer enquiries and process orders accurately and efficiently
- Advise customers on suitable lighting components and electrical products to meet their needs
- Act as the first point of contact for technical queries, liaising with suppliers where required
- Prepare and issue customer quotations using spreadsheets and internal systems
- Assist with packing and dispatch of customer orders
- Identify opportunities to expand the product range and suggest relevant solutions
- Maintain a professional and friendly telephone manner at all times
- Support general sales and account management activities across the business
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a sociable, practical, and adaptable individual who thrives in a small-team environment. You will be customer-focused, technically minded and eager to develop your skills within a specialist lighting and electrical distribution business. About you:
- Previous experience in technical customer support, internal sales or account management
- Strong communication skills with a professional telephone manner
- Good PC skills, including spreadsheets and basic drawing software
- A willingness to learn new systems and software with on-the-job training
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment
- An interest in electrical systems, electronics or LED lighting products
- A full, clean driving licence (advantageous)
- Flexibility to attend occasional customer site visits
