Summary

Join Castleholme Lodge in Huddersfield as a Maintenance Officer, where you will play the lead role in creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

You will be the primary person responsible for ensuring the service's facilities are fit for purpose. You will oversee all maintenance, gardening, and audits to identify and repair any faults, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for service users, staff, and visitors.

Working with established site teams, you will lead on all maintenance-related tasks for Rosebank House, managing contractors and coordinating the upkeep of the service. You will be the main point of contact for all maintenance aspects at this location.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:

  • Being the main responsible person for all maintenance aspects of Rosebank House, ensuring that the buildings, facilities, and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Utilising strong DIY and practical skills to ensure the safety and comfort of service users is maintained.
  • Planning, conducting, and documenting regular safety checks, audits, and maintenance schedules.
  • Leading on the repair, maintenance, and decorating of all buildings within Rosebank House.
  • Liaising with and reporting directly to the Manager on all faults, defects, and maintenance plans.
  • Coordinating, supervising, and supporting all contractors whilst on site, completing all necessary paperwork and tool checks.
  • To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Have proven experience within a maintenance role, preferably with some supervisory or lead responsibility.
  • Comply with and support with overseeing all health & safety systems and procedures.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Show courtesy and respect to residents and colleagues at all times to ensure the highest quality of service.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Be proactive, organised, and able to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Support with driving tasks and oversight of staff inductions for the company vehicles.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • To comply with system and procedures.
  • Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
  • To work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Castleholme Lodge is situated in Huddersfield with excellent transport links to the surrounding areas.

Castleholme Lodge is a mixed Gender 20 bed Care Home with nursing, providing a range of mental health services for adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
