Property Maintenance Handyman (Self-Employed Preferred)

Rate
£150 per day (self-employed basis preferred)

Self-employed / subcontractor (subject to status determination)
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Property Maintenance Handyman to support our Reactive maintenance division. The role involves a wide range of general maintenance tasks, site support duties, and yard/logistics management. This position would suit a practical, safety-conscious individual who is comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider trade team.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out general handyman and property maintenance tasks across residential and commercial sites
Rubbish clearance, site clear-downs, and waste handling in line with environmental and safety requirements
Towing company trailers and transporting materials and equipment safely
Operating IPAF 1a & 1b MEWPs in accordance with training, risk assessments, and site rules
Assisting other engineers and trades within the division, including (but not limited to):
Roofers
Builders
Carpenters
Other maintenance operatives
Managing the company yard and storage area, including
Organising materials and equipment
Booking goods in and out
Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly yard
Following company procedures for health & safety, manual handling, and working at height
Representing the company professionally on site and with clients
Call out rota 1 in 4 weeks (additional pay)
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in general property maintenance or handyman work
Competence in basic building, repair, and maintenance tasks
Valid IPAF 1a & 1b licences (training offered if required)
Experience towing trailers and confidence in vehicle safety checks
Ability to work safely at height and follow RAMS
Good organisational skills, particularly for yard and materials management
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
Right to work in the UK
Own basic hand tools (advantageous)
Valid driving licence
Self-employed status preferred (UTR number and relevant insurance required)
Commitment to safe working practices
