Contract Type: Permanent
We are seeking a Regional Operations Supervisor to lead the operations and maintenance team across the South West region, covering Bristol down to the outskirts of London and through to Devon.
This role is ideal for an engineer ready to step away from the tools into a supervisory, leadership-focused position where they can develop toward future technical management roles.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who can effectively manage a team of 10–15 engineers, oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, and ensure quality, compliance, and strong operational performance across a large, high-profile FM account.
This is a predominantly home-based role with regular site visits and responsibility as the first point of contact for the team.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, lead and support a team of 10–15 mechanical and electrical engineers across the regional patch.
Plan, allocate and monitor work orders and preventative maintenance tasks using CMMS systems.
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
Conduct monthly toolbox talks, monthly site visits and two engineer audits per month.
Review performance, ensure quality standards, and take corrective action where required.
Maintain up-to-date Operations & Maintenance documentation, manuals and site records.
Support subcontractor and vendor management, including performance monitoring.
Resolve operational issues and address team or customer complaints within defined procedures.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Strong engineering background (mechanical or electrical) with proven leadership capabilities.
Experience in building services or technical services within FM (financial services, manufacturing, industry or healthcare) or transferable experience from sectors such as construction.
Vocational qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (country-specific equivalents accepted).
Chartered/registered/licensed engineer (where applicable).
Strong knowledge of work order control and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
Experience of managing subcontractors, vendors and KPIs.
Ability to plan capacity and produce clear operational reporting.
UK driving licence (required for regional travel).
