Assistant Manager – Support and Lead with Britain’s Oldest Brewer!

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the General Manager to run the pub efficiently, lead the team, and deliver outstanding hospitality. Built in 1826 to serve local mill workers, the Millers Arms provides some of the finest food and drink in the heart of the cathedral city of Canterbury, Kent. The riverside pub, within walking distance of the city’s top tourist attractions, boasts 12 stylish ensuite bedrooms and it is a great place to stay or relax with a drink or bite to eat.
What You’ll Do
- Support the General Manager in day-to-day operations, including opening and closing duties.
- Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service and uphold company standards.
- Assist with staff training, development, and performance management.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Contribute ideas to improve service and business performance.
