A brilliant secondary school in Batley is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and caring Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting pupils aged 11-16 with behaviour needs, additional learning needs, and general classroom support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference every day while developing your experience in a supportive school environment.
Although the role will begin on a day‑to‑day basis, the school has been consistently busy and has a strong track record of offering regular work and even long‑term placements for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them stay engaged and focused
- Providing SEN support, adapting tasks and offering 1:1 or small‑group guidance
- Assisting teachers in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Helping maintain a calm, safe classroom atmosphere
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or community setting within the last two years (essential)
- A patient, resilient, and encouraging approach
- Confidence supporting behaviour and additional needs
- Someone who can bring energy, empathy, and reliability to the role
- A genuine passion for helping young people thrive
