We are recruiting for a skilled and experienced MET Technician to join a reputable, well‑established bodyshop in the Chesterfield area. Role Overview – MET Technician
You will be responsible for a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and Trim duties, including:
- Carrying out MET work on allocated jobs to manufacturer standards
- Removal and refitting of radiators, air‑conditioning repairs, and re‑gassing
- Vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and fault clearing
- Suspension component removal and replacement, including steering racks, subframes, hubs, knuckles, and associated parts
- ADAS calibrations (training provided)
- Airbag system work, including removal of dashboards and roof linings for airbag replacement
- High Voltage vehicle processes, including safe de‑energising and re‑energising
- Wiring repairs and electrical fault rectification
- Identifying additional repair work and liaising with the VDA
- Ensuring all work meets manufacturer gapping, tolerances, and quality expectations
Requirements – MET Technician
- Proven experience in a bodyshop environment is essential
- Strong background in MET, strip & fit, or mechanical repair
- Experience with suspension, steering, and structural component removal
- Understanding of wiring repairs and HV vehicle safety procedures
- Full UK driving licence
- City & Guilds, NVQ or ATA qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Candidates with 3+ years’ experience in a similar role will be of particular interest
