Clinical Responsibilities Provide a range of consultations including facetoface appointments, telephone contacts, online triage, home visits and duty doctor sessions. Review and action clinical correspondence, pathology results and medication requests in a timely and efficient manner. Make autonomous clinical decisions when assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with undifferentiated and complex conditions. Assess health needs, identify risk factors and early signs of illness, and develop personalised care plans in line with current clinical guidelines. Offer health education, lifestyle advice and disease prevention support. Refer patients appropriately to secondary care, community teams and other healthcare providers. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with professional standards. Issue acute and repeat prescriptions safely, following local and national prescribing protocols. Contribute to QOF, IIF and other locally commissioned services, supporting the practice in achieving high performance. Undertake all duties expected of an NHS GP working within a primary care setting. Other Responsibilities Teamwork and Practice Development Work collaboratively with practice colleagues, contributing to a positive and efficient team culture. Participate in clinical meetings, MDT discussions and practicewide planning activities. Support the continued development and improvement of digital consultation systems including online triage.Audit and Quality Improvement Participate in clinical audits, significant event analyses and service evaluations. Contribute to establishing and maintaining high clinical standards and improving patient pathways.Education, Training and CPD Maintain professional knowledge through continuing professional development, annual appraisal and revalidation activities. Support the training and supervision of students, trainees and other team members where appropriate.Information Management Use clinical systems effectively and contribute to accurate summarising and coding of patient records.Confidentiality The postholder must maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information, staff matters and practice business at all times. Information may only be disclosed to authorised individuals in line with practice policies and data protection legislation.Health & Safety and Infection Control The postholder is expected to adhere to all practice policies on health and safety, infection prevention and safeguarding. This includes: Using PPE appropriately and following safe working practices. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention. Reporting risks, incidents or concerns promptly.
