Are you looking to progress your surgical career while working at a major London teaching hospital? This is an exciting time to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and work within our leading surgical and allied surgical teams.

We are recruiting for CT1/2 Local Core Surgical Training Programme posts, starting in August 2026, on a two‑year programme. Suitable candidates will have completed Foundation Training (or equivalent) and will demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a surgical career. As an organisation, we are committed to delivering high‑quality, expert and safe care. Equally, we place great importance on our role in medical education and research.

We offer high‑quality surgical training programmes across several specialties and have developed our own Local Core Surgical Training Programme. Delivered across our sites in North West London, the programme provides tailored core‑level equivalent training. It is managed, quality assured, supported and mentored by our Local Training Programme Director and education team. Successful completion of the programme, along with a satisfactory final annual review, will result in the award of a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Higher Surgical Training (CREHST), confirming that you have achieved the competencies and experience required for progression to higher surgical training.

The programme offers themed rotations across a range of surgical specialties, including:
• ENT Surgery
• General Surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Plastic Surgery
• Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery

Rotations may also include allied specialties such as Intensive Care Medicine, Transplant Surgery and Major Trauma. Additional or alternative placements may be considered following discussion with the Local Training Programme Director.
