About Us
Parasakthi Hindu Temple Trust operates the Sri Raja Rajeswary Temple, established in 1994 in Stoneleigh, Surrey. Dedicated to Goddess Sri Raja Rajeswary and Lord Shiva, the temple also houses several other deities and serves devotees from across the UK, Europe, and beyond. The temple follows Saiva traditions rooted in Tamil Nadu, India. Daily rituals include twice-daily neivedhyam and the provision of free meals (annadhanam/prasadham) to visitors.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Hindu Temple Religious Worker to support daily temple activities and rituals in a non-pastoral role. Must have at least 1 years experience working in the UK as a Hindu Religious Worker
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the cleanliness of the deity housing and associated drainage areas
Assist in decorating the deities for rituals and festivals
Support the priest during services and rituals
Prepare prasadam (pirasatham) for both deities and devotees
Participate in and assist with temple events such as:
Homams
Hindu weddings
Remembrance ceremonies
Other Saiva-style rituals in accordance with Tamil Nadu traditions
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of One years experience working in the UK as a religious worker
3 years of experience minimum in a similar role at a reputable temple
Strong working knowledge of Hindu traditions and temple rituals
Demonstrated experience in planning and executing temple ceremonies
Ability to engage respectfully with religious workers from diverse backgrounds
Fluency in Tamil (required) and basic English
Capability to respond to devotee inquiries in a respectful, non-pastoral manner
A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards assisting devotees
