Job Title: Production Operative/Electrical Assembler

Reporting to: Section Leader (In the absence of the Section Leader, reports to HR)-----Purpose and Objectives

To contribute to the efficient production and manufacture of high-quality electrical products. The role requires ensuring all work adheres to established quality standards and client delivery requirements, and following all reasonable instructions from the Line Manager and the Company.
Main Work Activities
Assemble and produce electrical products, utilising various manufacturing processes and procedures specific to each job as needed by the Company and production requirements.
Accurately record work activities.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
Perform visual inspections of products to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Utilise a range of hand tools and other equipment for assembly tasks.
Complete necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Engage in manual handling tasks, with an emphasis on utilising team lifting, safe handling techniques, and mechanical aids as required.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to 5S principles.
Adhere to all company health and safety, HR rules, policies, and procedures.

Work Environment and Essential Skills
This role requires the ability to work in an open manufacturing environment and may involve a combination of sitting and standing, depending on the assigned production section and task.

Essential activities involve:
Building of wiring harnesses by way of feeding individual cables around a Jig Board according to the technical drawing.
Operation of a Press Machine to carefully ensure terminals are secured and crimped to cables, and fixing the correct mouldings according to the technical drawings.
Visual inspection for quality control, requiring excellent attention to detail.
Completion of paperwork.
The use of hand tools (wire cutters, strippers and crimpers to name a few) and, in some sections, machinery.
Success in this role requires a good level of communication, the ability to learn quickly, strong teamwork skills, and consistent concentration levels.

General Responsibilities
This is not an exhaustive list of duties. The Production Operative is expected to perform different duties and tasks/instructions within the current and potentially other sections, as necessitated by the changing requirements within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the company.

Basic Terms of Employment

Normal Working Hours: 40 paid hours per week.
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am until 4:30 pm (including a 45-minute unpaid break).
Friday: 7:00 am until 12:00 noon.

Remuneration:

Starting Rate (unless otherwise informed): £12.21 per hour.
Post-Probationary Period Rate: £12.64 per hour upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Holiday Entitlement: 28 days holiday per holiday year.
