Choices Healthcare is looking for a reliable and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our team at the Southend branch.
About You
The ideal candidate must have proven Accounts experience working in accordance with organizational policies and government legislation. Knowledge and experience of payroll procedures are essential to ensure that each payroll period is delivered accurately and on time.

Choices Healthcare is an established health and social care organisation that supplies a variety of healthcare staff to both the sector and private clients alike. In addition, we provide supported living accommodations and both internal and external healthcare training. We currently operate across Southeast England, with a high scope for expansion.
Typical duties will include:
Checking the number of hours employees have worked
Calculating wages and salaries
Processing starter/leaver details and bank details
Collaborating with the HR department to maintain employee data
Calculating pay raises, shift payments and overtime compensation
Issuing tax forms and related documentation and assisting employees to complete them
Processing relevant deductions e.g. DEA’s in accordance with statutory requirements
Processing holiday requests/annual leave/maternity or paternity leave/sick pay etc
Resolving issues employees have with timesheets, payslips and other payroll matters
Inputting data onto Payroll system
Responding to payroll queries
Organising own workload to ensure deadlines are met. These are time critical to ensure the payroll department can achieve their deadlines.
To assist in areas such as Policy & Procedures and pay legislation/statutory requirements.
To work using own initiative and largely unsupervised on a day-to-day basis, however, advice and guidance is readily available from the Accounts dept and overall team of colleagues.
Requirements:
Previous Accounts & Payroll Assistant experience
Experience working within health and social care settings would be advantageous
Full Microsoft Word & Excel understanding
Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure
Attention to detail
Good at problem solving and thinking logically
Good system knowledge
Able to use own initiative
Respectful of confidential information
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with conflict/pressurised situations
