Crynodeb

The Celia Cross Greyhound Trust is an independent Sighthound Charity based in Clandon near Guildford.
We are lucky enough to house our hounds in our purpose-built kennels set within 10 acres of our own grounds.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Sun Valley Kennels.

Sadly, due to one of our long-term team members leaving us we find ourselves with a space to welcome a new member to our team.
The role will be solely based at our kennels in West Clandon Guildford.
We will require someone who is looking for a position where they enjoy being part of a team, but, can equally work and make sensible decisions on their own if needed.
Obviously, a love for large dogs and confident in dog wellbeing handling is a must.

The main duty of the role is the welfare and wellbeing of the hounds within our care. All our hounds are looked after to a very high standard and welfare is our main concern here at Sun Valley. Our team member will ensure that the dogs are provided with clean accommodation and that their daily needs are met. This includes regular socialising either onsite within our own paddock or offsite within the surrounding woodlands.
You will also be required to be involved in the homing aspect of the dogs in our care. This means helping match suitable dogs with potential homes.
Staff members are expected to work alongside our dedicated team of volunteers that are so crucial to our daily functioning at the kennels.

There will be admin involved in the role, filling out form, assessments, answering and making telephone calls, responding/sending emails, so you must be confident in communication skills, verbally and written.
We will expect our team member to actively take part in fundraising activities either on or off site to actively help us promote the work that we do for these wonderful dogs.

A full driving licence is a must as we are in a rural setting with no access to public transportation. Sometimes you may be required to take a collect a dog to the vets if in an emergency if needed so driving is needed.
Obviously working with the dogs will entail a lot of work outside, so you must be willing to work in all weathers and be fit enough to do so.

If you are interest in the role please send in your CV with a covering letter to Jane Thompson.
Please do not call the kennels as it will only take up time spent away with dealing with the dogs.
