Exercise Referral Professional x 2 Posts, each 18.50 hours per week - Pontypool Active Living CentreAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join Halo’s team in Torfaen, supporting the National Exercise Referral Scheme programme in partnership with Public Health Wales, Torfaen County Borough Council and the ABUHB local health board. Here at Halo Leisure, our mission is to 'Create Healthier Communities'. We provide affordable and accessible health and leisure facilities, operating gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres in both England and Wales. The post holder will be responsible for delivering our local Exercise Referral Programme with an overall objective of contributing to a National referral scheme and improving the physical activity levels and health of the people in Torfaen. Must be flexible in their approach to the role and change duties as and when required and often at short notice. Salary: £13.84 p/h Start Date: To be ConfirmedMain Purpose Deliver great activities; delight your customers, Key responsibilities and accountabilities:? Maintain our centres, delight our customers? Beat your targets? To provide consultations for clients and collect data to monitor progress.? To deliver a range of high quality physical activity opportunities that are progressive and reflective of the needs of special populations in the local community. Including Level 4 classes for our chronic condition referrals? To implement strict data and management protocols, including confidentiality,? Promote our values and expectations? To assist in evaluation by collection of accurate data.? Support your colleagues? Commit to your own development? Complete company training programmes? Provide feedback so we can continuously improve? Respect the privacy rights of customers and colleagues? Take responsibility for your performance? Take an active interest in the region and the centres you work in? Follow company policies, procedures and systems? Follow the emergency response plan for your centre? To support all other scheme staff and ensure that they are aware of their role in the scheme and update training as necessary.? To ensure effective communication is maintained with referral professionals.? To ensure the development and dissemination of good practice in the delivery of exercise by researching evidence regarding exercise and certain medical conditions.? To provide cover for other exercise referral professionals where necessary? Demonstrate a commitment to attain at least three Level 4 qualifications based on the needs of the service Qualifications: ? Holding, working towards or prepared to achieve the following Level 4 Qualifications: BACPR Cardiac Phase IV, Chronic Respiratory, Stroke & Neurological Conditions, Postural Stability/Falls, Low Back Pain Management, Level 3 First Aid at Work? Recognised Level 3 advanced gym instructor / Personal Trainer / or related Diploma? Recognised level 3 GP Referral Qualification? Level 2 group work qualification (e.g. circuits/exercise to music)Competencies and measurables: ? Evidence of ongoing CPD/Professional Development? Prepared to engage in further training/qualifications/ CPD to meet local need? Maintain satisfactory annual Performance Review? Confidence and competence in delivering exercise programmes/classes for special populations.? To be committed to customer care and to providing an efficient and effective service.? Possess good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to talk to customers face to face, on the telephone and in writing. Awareness of data protection protocols? IT literate - competent with Google apps, internet & email and data management/front-of-house systems? Work under pressure and have good organisational skills to manage workload /caseload effectively and ensure accurate data collection.? Possess ability to make decisions and diffuse difficult situations.? Be able to work with own initiative and work in a team environment by developing effective and constructive working relationships to colleagues? Proven ability to work as part of a team.? Commitment to undertake further training to meet needs of special populations? Ability to work/deliver sessions with colleagues, relevant external agencies/partners/health professionals and client carers? Able to travel independently and at times change duties at short notice? Able to work weekends and eveningsDesirable: ? Holding, working towards or prepared to achieve the following Qualifications:? Level 4: Cancer Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Obesity & Diabetes, Level 3: Yoga/Pilates, Adapting Exercise for Older Adults, Exercise for Disability and Impairments, Aquatic Activity for Health, Level 2: Water Based Exercise, Walking Qualification, Tai Chi? Experience of general administration? Experience working with special populations? Experience of working with GP Referral Programmes? Registered with CIMSPA at either L3 or L4? Relevant IT Qualifications/Training? Prepared to support wider Halo Healthy Community provision and deliver on ABUHB partnership programmes as requiredWhat we will offer:?
