This role plays a key part in developing a skilled, confident, and competent workforce within Pharmacy Aseptic Services at UHS. It exists to ensure that staff working in aseptic production and pharmacy apprenticeship pathways receive high‑quality training, assessment, and ongoing professional development. By supporting both new starters and experienced operators, the post helps maintain the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of aseptically prepared medicines for patients across the Trust.
Working closely with the aseptic teams, the postholder will coordinate and deliver structured training programmes, oversee competency assessments, and contribute to annual refresher training and operator re‑validations.
The role also supports service improvement by identifying training needs linked to new equipment, updated procedures, and evolving regulatory requirements. Alongside the training responsibilities, the post includes operational work within aseptic services to maintain technical skills and ensure training remains grounded in current practice.

Alongside your training responsibilities, you will maintain your own aseptic practice by working operationally within the unit, supporting safe and compliant production, and performing pre‑ and in‑process checks. You will contribute to quality assurance activities, audits, error monitoring, and the development and review of SOPs. The role also supports safe medicines management, staff induction, recruitment processes, and the aseptic emergency duty service, ensuring high standards of patient care and alignment with Trust values.
