Are you an
organised, detail-oriented and driven individual looking to embark on a career
in accountancy? We are seeking a Trainee Accountant to join our dynamic team.

We are a progressive and
distinguished firm of Chartered Certified Accountants and Chartered Tax
Advisors in Newton Abbot. Whilst being a relatively small firm, we have a
strong presence across the South West and further afield. Our client base is
varied allowing team members to have exposure to many areas of accountancy and
tax, including some specialist work.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist qualified accounting and tax staff with preparing accounts
and returns
Conduct reconciliations, journal entries, and year-end processes
Support compliance and regulatory filings with Companies House
Work with senior accountants to analyse financial data
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Liaise with clients and internal teams on financial matters
Liaise with clients
to obtain records
Take ownership of key processing requirements and information
storage
Preparation of VAT returns & online bookkeeping
Reception and office administrative duties


Training
Training will be held at Exeter College, once a week for the L3 (and 4) apprenticeship

Qualifications required
Maths and English GCSE C/4

Skills required
• Strong
grades in Maths, English, Business Studies and IT in academic studies (GCSE and beyond considered
relevant)


• Some proficiency with Microsoft office,
in particular Word and Excel



Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Excellent attention
to detail and organisational abilities

Prospects
As a firm of
qualified accountants and tax advisors there are many routes of progression
available and the successful candidate will gain experience in multiple areas
of discipline. As a firm with plans for expansion there is great scope for
future progression.

Duration 24 months (including progression for L4)
