Prepare high-quality food in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and quality guidelines, ensuring every dish meets customer expectations.
Collaborate with Café Assistants and the Café Team Leader to maintain smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area, following food safety and sanitation practices.
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage ingredient preparation efficiently.
Respond to customer feedback and address concerns promptly, contributing to continuous improvement of café services.
Plan, prioritize, and allocate tasks to ensure orders are completed efficiently, especially during busy periods.
Ensure high standards of food presentation and consistency in taste and quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a café or similar food service environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and commercial kitchen equipment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
Ability to remain calm and adaptable under pressure, handling busy periods or unexpected situations.
Attention to detail in following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and some evenings (10 per year)
Certification in online food safety or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.
