Senior Care Assistant | La Fontana Care Home in Martock, Somerset | Salary: £13.21 per hour | Hours: 36 per week

Nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the rolling Somerset countryside, La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is a purpose-built haven for up to 76 residents, offering specialist Dementia and Nursing care. Here, care isn’t just a task it’s a calling.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our home, leading and inspiring a dedicated team while ensuring every resident experiences warmth, dignity, and the highest standard of care. What You’ll Do:

Lead and Inspire: Run shifts, motivate your team, and create a positive, supportive atmosphere on the floor.

Resident-Focused Care: Assist with dressing, bathing, mobility, and daily routines, always prioritising dignity and independence.

Medication Oversight: Support the safe administration, documentation, and ordering of medications in collaboration with our nursing team.

Collaborative Communication: Work closely with residents, families, nurses, and colleagues to ensure everyone feels informed, supported, and valued.

Team Development: Mentor colleagues, share knowledge, and foster a culture of learning and growth.

Professional Excellence: Maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments, and case notes, ensuring residents’ needs and wishes are fully reflected.

Health & Safety Champion: Adhere to all policies, respond promptly to emergencies, and escalate concerns where needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is preferred, or willingness to work towards it.
  • Medication Experience: Competency in dispensing and administering medication is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a compassionate, person-centred approach.
  • Compassionate Nature: A kind, caring personality with a sense of fun and dedication to improving residents’ lives.
