Crossroads Braintree & Chelmsford is a local charity supporting unpaid family carers of all ages. We provide high‑quality respite, practical support, and reassurance to families across our community. We are looking for a compassionate, organised **Care Coordinator** to join our friendly team and help us deliver reliable, person‑centred care.
About the Role
The Care Coordinator will play a key part in ensuring unpaid family carers receive the respite and support they need. You will work closely with carers, staff, and partner organisations to coordinate safe, effective care that reflects each family’s individual circumstances.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating respite and support visits for unpaid family carers
- Liaising with families to understand needs, preferences, and any changes in circumstances
- Scheduling and supporting care staff, ensuring continuity and quality
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance with local authority and charity standards
- Responding to day‑to‑day queries with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
- Supporting the wider team with service development and improvements
What We’re Looking For
Experience in care coordination, domiciliary care, or a similar role is **preferred**, but we welcome applications from candidates with strong organisational skills and a genuine commitment to supporting carers.
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
- Warm, approachable, and confident communicating with families and staff
- Highly organised, with good attention to detail
- Able to work calmly and proactively in a busy environment
- Comfortable using digital systems and maintaining accurate records
- Passionate about supporting unpaid family carers and improving their wellbeing
Hours & Flexibility
- **24 hours per week**
- **£15.70 per hour**
- Working pattern can be discussed, and some flexibility may be possible to support service needs and carer respite arrangements.
