Summary

Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant – Carlisle

Humly is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a temporary basis.

This is a full-time role starting 09/03/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. The position involves supporting a Year 2/3 class across the full summer term. This role would suit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting whole-class learning while delivering targeted SEND interventions, particularly in speech and language development. You will play a key role in supporting pupil progress and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons

Providing targeted support for pupils with SEND

Delivering small group interventions focused on speech and language development

Reinforcing learning to support pupil understanding and progress

Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement

Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment

What You’ll Bring

Experience working within a primary school setting

Confidence supporting Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2 pupils

Experience delivering or supporting speech and language interventions

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A patient, proactive and nurturing approach

Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Pay

£13.70 – £14.85 per hour
