National Express is looking for a Digital Learning Specialist to join us on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract (24 hours per week). If you love making learning simple, accessible and brilliantly organised, this role puts you right at the heart of how we develop our teams.
You’ll own the day‑to‑day running of our iLearn LMS, keep our digital learning content sharp and up to date, and make sure every learner has the right access, the right pathway and the right support. It’s a role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, improving processes and keeping things running seamlessly behind the scenes.
This is a part‑time role based in Birmingham with hybrid working.
What you’ll do
- Manage and maintain our iLearn LMS so it runs smoothly every day.
- Make sure users have the right access, permissions and learning pathways.
- Upload, configure and quality‑check digital learning content.
- Keep learner records accurate and reporting reliable.
- Troubleshoot issues and work with our LMS provider when needed.
- Maintain structured learning pathways, certifications and compliance programmes.
- Oversee the Digital Apprenticeship Service, including registrations and funding reconciliation.
- Respond to learner queries and support requests with clarity and care.
What you’ll bring
- Experience managing or administering an LMS (Cornerstone, SuccessFactors, Totara, Moodle or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and a love of clean, accurate data.
- Great organisational skills and confidence juggling multiple priorities.
- Comfortable supporting users and solving problems.
- Understanding of digital learning formats (SCORM, xAPI, video).
- Experience with apprenticeship or funded learning programmes (desirable).
What you get for bringing your skills
- Free bus and coach travel across the National Express network for you.
- Complimentary travel for your nominated person (or bus travel for your partner).
- Life assurance and a strong company pension.
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
- A private online GP service for quick, stress‑free support.
We’re building an inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve, and we actively welcome applications from everyone. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know — we’ve got you.
A quick heads‑up: if we receive a high number of applications, we may close the advert early. If this role feels like your next step, now’s the time to jump in.
Things to Note...
At National Express, we are really proud of our health and safety record and as a result, we operate a Drugs and Alcohol Policy which is applicable to all employees.
As part of your initial assessment, we will complete Drug and Alcohol testing and you may be subject to random tests during your employment.
